We’re excited to present the second edition of our alumni newsletter, for Phoenix Rising FC Youth Soccer and Blackhawks Soccer alumni. This platform is designed for you to reconnect with former teammates, share your latest achievements, and stay updated on our teams’ latest news and successes.
In this edition, we continue our Alumni Spotlight series, showcasing the achievements of talented individuals who’ve come through our program.
In this month’s edition, we are highlighting Annie Marum, Conor Geraghty, Maddie Lucas, Quinn Galvin, Sam Gleadle, and Zoe Steinhauer.
Annie Marum (Class of 2008)
Annie Marum’s, former Blackhawks Soccer player, impressive career has led her back to where her soccer career started, here at Phoenix Rising Football Club, where she leads stadium operations and game-day events. As Director of Stadium Operations and Game Presentation, she ensures fans have an exciting experience. Previously, Annie held operations management roles within the club, giving her a deep understanding of its inner workings.
Annie’s success at Phoenix Rising FC was built on a strong foundation from the University of Arizona, where she studied Journalism and Sports Management (2008-2012). Her experience was also shaped by roles with top sports organizations and internships, including time at the Arizona Diamondbacks, NCAA, and the Fiesta Bowl.
Conor Geraghty (Class of 2023)
Conor Geraghty, a graduate of Mountain Ridge High School Class of 2023, joined the Colgate University Raiders mens soccer team. During his freshman year, Conor made 8 appearances.
Going into his sophomore year at Colgate University, he took a step into the bigTime in a recent match for Colgate by scoring his first NCAA D1 goal and featuring in 5 games so far this season
Maddie Lucas (Class of 2024)
Maddie Lucas is off to an impressive start in her collegiate career. She graduated from Veritas Prep, before heading off to play for St. Marys College.
In her freshman year, she has played in every game so far for St. Marys, made two starts scoring scoring once and assisting once.
Her first goal of her collegiate career came against CSU Bakersfield, in which her goal was also the game winner for St. Marys in the 84th minute.
Quinn Galvin (Class of 2023)
Quinn Galvin graduated from Notre Dame Preparatory in 2023, going on to play for Loyola Marymount University.
As a sophomore, he has featured in five matches for LMU this season, including a recent match up against Grand Canyon State University here in Phoenix.
Sam Gleadle
Sam Gleadle is a member of our 1996 Blackhawks Soccer team, originally from Chichester England, he moved to Arizona, where he joined the Blackhawks, before going on to play college soccer with the University of New Mexico. His collegiate success paved the way for a professional career, with stints at Reno 1868, Minnesota United, San Antonio FC, Monterey Bay FC, and currently, Louisville City FC.
Gleadle’s professional journey has been marked by notable achievements, including Monterey Bay FC’s Golden Boot award and Most Valuable Player recognition. His consistent growth and success demonstrate the strong foundation laid during his youth development years. With a strong work ethic and technical ability, Gleadle continues to make a name for himself in the USL Championship.
Zoe Steinhauer (Class of 2022)
Zoe Steinhauer graduated from Saguaro High School in 2022. After graduation, she joined the Oberlin College women’s soccer team, where as a freshman, she made 15 appearances registering 8 shots in her first year of her collegiate career.
In her sophomore year, she played a total of 13 matches for Oberlin, starting in 12 of those matches. In her current year with the school, her junior year, she has played in 4 matches so far, starting on in all those matches.
